Selective Mutism

Selective Mutism is an anxiety disorder where a patient is unable to speak in certain situations but speaks freely in others. Researchers from Amsterdam UMC, Levvel, and the University of Amsterdam have developed a VR application called “Praten op School” (“talking at school”) to augment the treatment of selective mutism. The VR application provides ten exercises that accompany the ten stages used in treatment developed at Levvel [1].
