Behavioural parent training (BPT) interventions are an effective way to treat child disruptive behavior and to help parents gain skills to manage such behaviour. Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is a specific BPT intervention that has proven effective in decreasing child disruptive behavior and parenting stress. For this project we developed PCIT-VR: a software architecture that adds interactive VR exercises to PCIT.

The PCIT-VR software architecture allows 360-degree video segments to be composed into an interactive Virtual Reality (VR) experience. The architecture uses web technology to allow almost any device with a web browser to play the experiences, ranging from smartphones to VR headsets. Since its inception, the software has been used in several other research projects and released into the public domain under the name 360Composer.
